Our group had a fantastic time experiencing various Theyyams and the Arrangements made my Naveen and his team were fantastic. Excellent accommodation, lovely food and all our travel and transport, were organised flawlessly. Will definitely go back to cover other parts of Kerala and witness other festive events
Ever since I saw the Theyyam visuals somewhere on the internet, I made up my mind that one day I shall go and make a video on this. Luckily, I got in touch with the right people at Tyndis Heritage. They understood my requirements well and went out of their way to make sure I get what I want.
Theyyam with all its historical background, undocumented aspects and the visually stunning setting is a perfect place to get creative for photographers and filmmakers. Best thing is that it happens for a few months and you can choose your dates when you want to dive in. Absolutely recommended.
Where do I start? I went only for a couple of tours with Tyndis Heritage. Best thing I did in 2020. Their storytellers are locals - they have a special bonding with this place. Isn't it a privilege that someone local is taking you on a tour to show you around, tell you about the history, and share their memories with you? I left Kannur with a feeling of belongingness? It felt as if I was there for a long long time. I knew those streets and their stories.
Thank you so much Tyndis heritage for making my trip a lifetime memory. Couldn't have asked for more!
8 of us friends visited Nileshwar and had chosen Tyndis to take us sight see. Arangements made by Tyndis for our tour was exemplary. Mr.Sujit was well on time to take us on our tour. He is very well informed, polite, and knowledgeable, also an ace photographer. He ably, aided by Mr. Satyan, made the holiday awesome and memorable. Traditional lunch at Bodi Beach House in the serene surroundings was to die for. Would reccomend Tyndis to organise trips and will definitely use them any time I visit Ketala with groups of friends.
This is an excellent experience for tourists in kannur. It was fascinating to know about the colonial stories connected with this place. my storyteller Mr. Mohan even mentioned about names that was connected with the county that I came from!! Well-arranged tour with great sights and stories! An amazing experience for travellers in Kannur! Don't miss this experience!
incredible!!!!
i travelled with tyndis in nileshwar for their village experience. from my storyteller there, i got info about this tour in kannur. upon reaching kannur, booked this tour. we walked around to places like arakal museum and the bay nearby. the visit to the fort in kannur was beautiful. our storyteller mohan was expert in history and interesting stories. it was great to meet a person with lot of passion for history. the spots covered in the tour are must visit places of kannur. the view of sea from fort is amazing. it was interesting to know stories about british and portuegues rule in this place. thanks to mohan for his wonderful stories...
I would definitely recommend this tour as the best experience of kannur!!!!!
It was my first visit to Kerala! And it couldn't have been better! Not just fun, the trip was actually educational too! Recommended to everyone visiting Kerala!
So we were four friends did our 15days kerala trip with tyndis. I must say that kerala is gonna stays in my heart forever now, not just becasue kerala was beautiful but the way trip was managed(stays, local experience, food, itinearary, route, guides and everything what a trip is consist off) was way above what we imagined. We did leisure, adventure, hikes, local experience, tea plantataion, spice plan tour, food tour. We alsmof travelled like locals. Guides and guidance provided by naveen(he managed it all) was superb and remarkable. I feel so lucky and priviliged to choose tyndis for our trip to kerala. 10/10 + 1 star for all the efforts. They know every bits and parts of kerala. Highly highly recommended.
We had a great experience of Theyyam and especially of the night fire Theyyam. The experience was really fascinating. Big thanks to Naveen and Tyndis Tours who organised our wonderful Theyyam Tour in Kannur! Tyndis arranged for Midhun, who was a specialist theyyam storyteller. He knows everything about Theyyam and he is from the same place.
Explored the rich history of Kerala on this tour ! From Tea Plantation to Spice Plantation, Backwater rides in Alleppey to village tours, everything was so much fun and informative!
An Amazing day tour at kochi!!
Was planning to write a review for tyndis after experiencing tyndis day tour in kochi.
1, I would like to appreciate the story teller- Mr. Midhun For reciting the hidden history of fort kochi and accompanying me to all the historic spots Which i always had a plan to visit. We went to few cafes and well recommended one is pepper house.
2. Was quite lucky to be there at the fishing spot and got a chance to join the fisherman and experience the Chinese fishing net. There were also small eateries specialized for seafood where you can experience live cooking of fish. I tried the authentic kerala style Thava fish which was truly delicious.
3. By evening we went to Iringol kavu which is really a must recommend Place where we did an amazing walk through the sacred groves.
Once again thanks to the entire tyndis family for being so passionate about what they are doing and special thanks to Midhun for being an awesome story teller.
Experiencing these mangroves was incredible, to say the least. The way the community is intertwined with sustainable practices over decades is nothing short of a miracle. And hearing first-hand stories of the planting and preserving of the mangroves is just a cherry on top. Ayyappan sir is a treasure trove of stories that will make it feel like you are in the documentary when it’s being shot! Thanks Naveen, Maria, and Neha and hats off to all the storytellers of Tyndis for helping us connect with the heritage of the Malabar region. No amount of pictures and videos can do justice to this place - so don’t Google, just go!
A boat cruise can never get better than going on a large yet simple country boat, puddled through the emerald river waters. What a beautiful experience was that for me at the Calicut mangrove tour with Tyndis! Really down to earth villagers who are not only excited to see you, but also caring and would even invite you to have a meal at their house! What else could make my idea of cultural immersion better!
I was merely expecting an eco-tour when I booked this mangrove tour in Calicut with Tyndis. But to my amusement, the tour turned out to be a real good village experience. That was just an icing on the cake! I could see the traditional fish farms and fishermen who were busy repairing their nets. The palm-fringed islands were almost resembling a beautiful painting.
I was really unaware about the different varieties of mangrove. Mr. Sushil, the tour coordinator from tyndis beautifully translated the deep knowledge shared by the local mangrove protector, Mr Ayyappan. He has spent his life in conserving mangroves for the village. The wide merits of mangroves for an ecosystem was a real eye-opener!
Adding to the beauty of the tour, I had an opportunity to see the giant train by the Indian Railways passing over my head through the bridge across the river. It was spectacular!
I travelled solo and had a couple sharing the boat with me. With the special personal care given during the cruise, each guest gets to have the best experience of the mangrove tour. It is one of the top things to do in Calicut! Don’t miss out on this!!!
It was a pleasant surprise that Tyndis Travel had for us during the Calicut mangrove tour at the Kadalundi Mangrove Reserve in Calicut. We were expecting something similar to the Pitchavaram Mangrove Experience in Tamilnadu which is one of the best mangrove tourism in India. That tour was a couple of years ago. But, it happened to be a whole different experience. A beautiful cruise experience on a country boat - neatly arranged and equipped for tourists. The place itself is a cool location for relaxation. Every angle gives u an option for great photography.
I was keen about the Mangrove forests. The journey at Calicut mangrove tour through the reserve were almost similar to Pitchavaram - but both the hospitality of the boatmen and storyteller, and the village life that surrounded the backwaters were unmatchable by whatever we have experienced earlier. It is one of the best options for leisure if you are on a Kerala tour with family!
Ms. Binusha, our young and beautiful lady storyteller was a gem. She explained about the great efforts put forward by the local community and various organizations in preserving the mangroves. She was really good at her job of storytelling. Mr Ayyappan and Mr Siddique - our loyal boatment carefully navigated us through the mangroves, taking care of not causing any disturbances to my photography! I’m really grateful to them for their care!
It is really wonderful how beautifully the mangrove park is maintained. The reserve provides all the basic facilities like washrooms, drinking water, information centre, car parking, etc for the tourists. The boat is also equipped with good life jackets and safety measures. They even have trained guards who are really good at saving drowning people!
We were really humbled by the beautiful arrangement of the Calicut mangrove tour by Tyndis. It was one of its kind experience in Calicut for us! I certainly recommend this experience for people visiting Calicut!
Thank you so much Naveen & Sujith! I personally have become a huge fan of your tours and mesmerising story tellers, which took me around Nileshwar village life, Bekal Fort,Arakkal Museum,St. Angelo Fort and lastly most exciting Ocean Kayaking at Dharmadam. I strongly recommend to all my friends around the world to come down and explore Malabar with Team Tyndis.

Tyndis tours was very friendly and flexible in arranging a replacement tour guide, Mr. Mohan, since their regular storyteller was not available.
Mr. Mohan shared his very wide range of knowledge in fluent English and enthusiasm. The mosque was definitely a highlight. The neighborhood and former harbour was given color through Mr. Mohan's stories and facts. Thank you!
A wonderful live introduction to the rich history and people of Kozhikode, to me and my daughter – better than any history text book! We came to know how and why Kozhikode became a melting pot of cultures, and how different communities have lived here peacefully over the years. We met with the unique Muslim community in Kuttichira, where the gorgeous Mishkal mosque and Juma Masjid stand. The majestic structure of the Mishkal mosque and its history left us in awe and respect of how secularism was/is actually practiced quietly in this part of the country. It was Diwali and the markets were closed, but our energetic story teller Binusha took us into the little by-lanes full of old shops, where ancient businesses of this region came alive in our imagination. We also caught a glimpse of how the famous Calicut halwa was being made. She was so committed, she took us again to the market the next day when it was open, and to the beautiful Matri Dei cathedral, also built in the time of the Zamorin. Walking the streets has its own charm but if you want to cover more places in the given time, you might want to opt for a vehicle, at least in parts. And to complete this dose of history, we enlightened our taste buds with the best chicken biryani and seafood at Paragon, and the most delectable pathiri, ela-ada,chicken pav, kalumakkaya (mussels) and all sorts of mouth-watering snacks found only in north Malabar, at this charming joint called Zains :)
I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the city, which felt like home with the Tyndis touch.

I was was googling for historical sights to see while at Calicut and was fortunate to land up on the Tyndis website. Read through and booked a Heritage walk; and I am more than happy I did that.
The Tyndis team contacted me the previous day and briefed me on what to expect on the program I had selected, and also gave me an outline of what more they can offer in and around Calicut. This ice breaker was quite a welcome one; though I'm not a stranger at all to such impromptu trips and travels all around the world.
Binusha, story teller assigned for my Heritage Walk arrived at the meeting point on time and we set off on what was a thoroughly informative and enjoyable walk through the back alleys of Calicut. Binusha knew what she was talking of, and this easy paced walk around Gujarati Street, Valiyangadi, Silk Street etc was a very enriching experience.
I wish I had a bit more time on this trip. I'm very sure I'll land up in North Kerala again and do more of what Tyndis has to offer. My sincere thanks to the Tyndis team and a very special 'Thank You' to Binusha; I had a fantastic time.

Tyndis gets 10/10 from me and my mother on hospitality, accommodation and tour planning. We wanted a personalised itinerary with ample time at the backwaters and Naveen Mathew ensured we get what we wanted:
They ensured that we have the best of local food (Kuluki to Karimeen), shopping (spices to sarees), Homestay and travel experiences. A village walk with their story teller, Mr. Sabu, was one-of-a-kind experience where we got to weave leaf-based mats, drink fresh palm-juice and climb up coconut trees:D Tyndis also booked a lovely private houseboat for us with very cordial staff. The cruise amidst the birds and the water-lilies was something! Both of us return happy and rejuvenated with beautiful memories and zero complaints. Thank you, Tyndis.

It was a dream for a long time. A dream that never left since the age of 12. That is when I read "mayyazhippuzhayude theerangal", a very touching book that talks about Mahe of pre independent period written by the famous Malayalam author M Mukundan.
Somehow everything fell in place this Februvary. Other than my regular travel partner, my darling son Achu, this time a few colleagues also jumped the wagon and off we started for Mahe.
I had already spoken to the Tyndis team about our trip, about our time limitation and also about what we would like to prioritize. I was told everything would be taken care of as per our needs and let me tell you, they not only did that but exceeded our expectations.
Rooms were booked for us in Villa de 1945 in Mahe. It is an old, georgeous house converted into a hotel. We fell in love with the hotel at the first sight itself. The facade had a mixture of french and traditional kerala architecture. Rooms were large, elegantly done with all the facilities. The only problem you might come across here is that you will not find 24 hr room service which the hotel team say that they would be soon starting.
The first day included a visit to St.Angelo's fort in Kannur, Arackal museum and Chirakkal weavers in the forenoon. Fort was worth the effort offering us an insight into the history of Kannur. Arackal museum had a few relics from the only Muslim kingdom of kerala. The traditional architecture of the museum and its interiors are amazing. Chirakkal weavers was a wonderful experience. Here, the fabric is processed right from the yarn stage to the finished fabric. And the story of their fabric is amazing. I could not resist buying a saree.
Lunch at the Paris, Thalassery was an experience by itself. The slow cooked biriyani of Thalassery with all its delicate flavours was worth the drive back from chirakkal. We also tried their mussels. I have never tasted such excellently cooked mussels, their texture was amazing.
After a brief rest at the hotel, we set out on a walk to the Mahe pathway which was just about 5 minutes from the hotel. As I walked along the sculpted brief story of "mayyazhippuzhayude theerangalil", I went back to my teens. The tender emotions I thought I had long forgotten flowed in effortless. The hero of this book was my first crush. We could see that it was going to be a very beautiful sunset. To get a better view, we climbed the hill top. As I reached the top, I get a call from student, Vismay, who is a native of Mahe. He called to ask if I wanted to meet Mr.Mukundan, the author of the famed book. I could not contain my excitement. It was not even part of my wildest dreams. He took me to Mukundan's house. We were there for almost half an hour talking to him. And that was one of the most precious moment in my life.
Second day, we set out early. Breakfast was from a local eatery and it was good. We reached Kuroolikkavu temple by 9 am. In time for the end part of Bhagavathi thira. Then came the fiery majestic Ghantakarnan. He is believed to have originated from the neck of Lord Shiva. With fire burning at the end of sticks tied around the waist, tender coconut leaves adorning the upper and lower body, mask and elaborate face makeup makes him quite a vision. Then came Vasoorimala, goddess of small pox, believed to have originated from the forehead of Lord Shiva. Bright clothes in hues of red and intricate face makeup that takes several hours makes this theyyam a feast for your eyes.
There were several other theyyams to follow. But the heat and dust finally got the better of us and we left that beautiful village with a sigh.
Lunch was from National, a small roadside eatery with desks and benches. They serve some of the best seafood in the world. Do not miss this place if you are in Thalassery. They are very economical too..
I wish we had more time to spend.
Thank you Team Tyndis for this wonderful trip, for all your stories and definitely for the hospitality that you were so eager to extend...
I am never looking elsewhere when I make my next travel plan...

The heritage walk takes you close to the heart and the stories of the fort city of Calicut. The person who accompanied us (Ms Binusha) is a heritage enthusiast and is quite knowledgeable of the stories of the Land of Zamorin. For people intending know the city it’s people, food, culture and stories related to different communities, the heritage walk should be a mandate. They don’t rush the walk, but rather give you enough time to absorb the spaces and stories of the land

On the day before departure from Calicut my family and I decided to go on a Tyndis Tuk Tuk Calicut tour , and boy oh boy I’m glad we did! We had the best time with Tyndis, both IN the actual - top down – tuk tuk as visiting the heritage and history of Calicut. Everything from booking, to itinerary to confirmation went smoothly. My nephew is 3 so we did a customized route and reduced the time of the tour to 2,5 hours. We had two tuk tuk with us + One storyteller. This storytelling tuk tuk tour took us to beach site, Old streets and Busy Indian Market, Local food place, Halwa (Sweet dish) making place, Old church and mosque .Both storyteller and driver was very friendly, spoke English very well and was the sweetest thing to the little guy. Good knowledge on sites also. All in all a GREAT afternoon. I'd definitely recommend this tuk tuk tour to everyone planning to experience the real Calicut .
I got in touch with Naveen from Tyndis and after a few discussions I landed up in Kannur. What began was a truly amazing journey in the Malabar. As a filmmaker, I wanted to capture some of the stories that are unique to this place. Naveen understood the requirements and made sure I get to experience authentic stories with a flavour of North Kerala.
North Kerala is the next place to be - it is visually stunning and mostly unexplored. From what I could understand, this place will get to see more tourists coming in in the years to come. Good thing is that the locals are already aware of the harm unchecked tourism can do so they want to promote community-based tourism instead of big hotels and tour operators. North Kerala is the place to be right now!

I had a great day with our storyteller Sohal and Abu. I was searching for something unique to do on my next day in Wayanad and that’s when I came across the Wayanad village tour with a storyteller offered by Tyndis. I checked the description and was fascinated by what was offered. The price was cheap as well. I booked the tour for next morning – they arranged things quite well within the short notice!
I was packed for the day. Sohal joined me at the entrance of the Edakkal caves. We experienced the famous caves and headed to the tribal village nearby. It was an overwhelming experience for me! Tyndis has curated this tour to a next level with amazing stories and lots of local essence. I interacted with the tribal people, took snaps with them and they sang tribal songs for me! What a feeling!
Sohal next took me for a walk through the rural roads of Ambalavayal – a beautiful village. I shared stories about Wayanad’s agriculture, the varieties of rice grown, the livelihood of farmers, etc. In some random farm midway, I even exchanged ideas with a labourer who didn’t understand English and I didn’t understand a word of the language in which he responded! All thanks to Sohal for translating things for us!! Sohal was extremely informative and spoke great English.
Our next stop was at the heritage museum in Ambalavayal – it is better known as Wayanad heritage museum. It is not so well organized. A basic gallery of Wayanad’s archaeological artefacts. But again, Sohal came to help with his knowledge and connected it with the mythology and tribal folklores of Wayanad – that amazing skill of a storyteller! Another highlight of this tour was the visit to this superhero called ‘Govindan’! He is the master archer of Wayanad! Such a kind soul! Govindan was so passionate about his job that he spent years together in preserving the craft of tribal archery. Govindan invited me to try my archery skills – I’m happy that I could impress him!!
What a day…What a great tour of Wayanad!! This tour was just the kind I was looking for – right amount of stories, right amount of descriptions, well organized, amazing local experiences and hands-on activities! Couldn’t ask for more! Brilliant effort team Tyndis!! Impossible to recommend these guys too highly. My day in Wayanad was one I will never forget.

Well, Wayanad is a very beautiful place with lots of attractions. Tyndis Tours’ arrangements and guidance was excellent. We booked the Tyndis Wayanad tour on 17th Jan 2020. Everything was great and special thanks to Mr. Sohal for making it a memorable experience.
The day tour included the tribal village visit, which was exciting. We loved the interactions with the tribal folks of Wayanad! Really welcoming people they were. The tribal colony is a place where one can experience the indigenous culture and tribal tradition of Wayanad. Our storyteller was enthusiastic and explained about the tribal colonies and their livelihood. We interacted with the tribal chieftain - called the Mooppan. He talked in the local dialect, which Sohal translated for us!
The Ambalavayal village ensured the local essence, the Wayanad Heritage Museum added the heritage flavour to the tour. Wayanad has various varieties of rice. In our village walk, we saw agricultural activities going on in the farmlands of Ambalavayal village. Sohal explained about the arrival of Rubber and single crop plantations in Wayanad. He seemed to have an interest towards agriculture! The walk also covered local interactions, primary schools and many such places! The Edakkal Caves was yet another awaited experience and yes, finally we were able to climb up the famous historic place of Wayanad! I could read a lot about Edakkal on the internet during my travel research last month.
This Edakkal climb – it was not a very difficult hike, and the pace was not very crowded, but it was a great way to get to explore the wilderness of the place...and the views were absolutely amazing! Our storyteller Sohal did a fantastic job keeping us all together and provided so much information and great tips for all the stops. The experience at the archery making unit of Wayanad was mind-blowing. We thoroughly enjoyed the place…
Wayanad is famous for its tribal arrows and bows. We could meet a person who makes these. The archery making culture of Wayanad is on a declining phase as explained by the old archerer. He shared his concerns about this with us. I personally was overwhelmed with his passion towards the craft. He even taught us how to shoot the bow. Tremendous experience it was!! This Wayanad tour by Tyndis was a great example of how community engagement tours should be! I specially thank Tyndis team for curating such an experience.
It was a great way to get to experience the entire area for me, including time with/without the group to allow for exploration of each point along the tour. I would definitely do this trip again.
I am a regular visitor of Kerala because I just love this place. Though I have been to Kerala many times, I have travelled less to the Northern Part of Kerala. I did a good research about the place online to find out that North Kerala was this stretch in Kerala that basically included Kasaragod which included Bekal, Nileshwar with the beautiful backwaters of Valiyaparamba, Kannur, Calicut, Wayanad, etc. I was over-excited and planned for my tour. I searched for the best tour operators in North Kerala and that’s how I came across Tyndis Heritage Travel India operating in Kerala with their base in Kannur. They are just the people you would need to travel with if you are planning to experience the soul of North Kerala! I researched about Tyndis and learned about the services they provided through their website. With many mails to and fro, I confirmed my North Kerala package called the ‘Flavours of North Kerala – Malabar Experiential Tour Package’ curated by Tyndis. Soon after my confirmation, I received my email confirmation with a full itinerary that included my airport pick-up details, accommodation in each place of North Kerala, transportation details, activities and experiences that I will be experiencing and even a list of things I should be carrying!
On my arrival at the Kannur international airport, I was greeted in the traditional way by Sujith, my tour coordinator. Sujith took me to my stay in Nileshwar. I stayed at a beautiful beach resort in Nileshwar called Neeleshwar hermitage. My coming nine days were packed with amazing experiences and stories.
In Nileshwar, I was taken to explore the Bekal Fort, Thaikadappuram village with fishermen islands and lots of village activities like toddy tapping, handloom, coir making, basket making, etc. I visited the Nileshwar palace and temple nearby. Theyyam experience was another highlight of the tour. I was taken to the nearby temple to witness the Theyyam dance. Tyndis had arranged for a special Kannur heritage walk called the Arackal trail covering the Kannur St. Angelo Fort, Chirakkal Weavers, Parassinikadavu Temple, Arakkal museum etc. The stories told by the storyteller Mr. Mohan were rich with the history and heritage of Kannur! Thalassery Biryani making session was a pure delight! I interacted with the local Muslim household in Thalassery. They explained the preparation of the local delicacy of the place – called the Thalassery Biryani! The stories connected with Thalassery and Mahe’s heritage were beautifully explained by Mr. Farhan – he is such a great storyteller! Next was Wayanad - one of the top destinations in Kerala. The tea garden experiences, trekking and storytelling village tour were amazing! Sujith and storyteller Sohal took me to the famous Edakkal Caves, Wayanad heritage museum, archery experience, etc. I could also interact with people in a Wayanad Tribal colony nearby. It was a rich experience in Wayanad for a first time visitor like me!
I reached Calicut on the 8th day of the tour. The Calicut heritage walk was a well-curated walking tour through the richness of Calicut’s heritage. Binusha, the storyteller, was well-versed with the stories of Calicut. She took me to the Calicut beach, Valiyangadi, etc. I enjoyed the delicious Calicut chips, Calicut Halwa and Calicut biryani!
It was on the final day of the tour that I visited Beypore. The Beypore Uru yard and Commonwealth tile factory visit were extraordinary. Tyndis curated each day of the tour with great care and making each experience memorable. The storytellers were not just guides - they were more than guides - people who had a passion towards their place and projected the culture and traditions of Kerala! The final stop in the tour was indeed one of the best things I have had in the whole of Kerala! The mangrove tour in Kadalundi. I was taken on a country boat through the Kadalundi River towards the mangrove forests of the place. It was a serene place with lots of migratory birds. I was introduced to a local person, who had immense knowledge about mangroves and birds. Sujith translated the details to me.
The canoe cruise took around 2 hours and it was already 6 pm by then. I reached back to my resort by 6.45 and yes that was it!! End of the tour. I relaxed for the night. Sujith joined me at the lobby next morning and we travelled to the Calicut International Airport. I couldn’t thank Sujith and Team Tyndis well enough for their efforts and arrangements for this tour! This review is a great appreciation for the whole team, coordinators and storytellers of Tyndis for putting sincere efforts in promoting community based tourism in a less touristic place like North Kerala! I like the way Tyndis approaches tourism - making each tour a greater experience rather than mere stay and sightseeing! The aspect of community interactions and local flavors are your own specialty! Above all, I was fortunate to have had college students and housewives as storytellers - what a great way of empowerment! You guys are definitely a model for the world to learn from! I will definitely be returning to meet each one of you!! This is a highly recommended tour for the one’s travelling to North Kerala!!

Thank you for introducing the Malabar way of life to me. I witness how hospitable and peace-loving people you all are. In the age of stage culture, Tyndis heritage is striving to give authentic experiences and giving more reasons to visit the Malabar region.

It was my first visit to Pondicherry! And it couldn't have been better! Not just fun, the trip was actually educational too! Recommended to everyone visiting Pondicherry!
Tyndis gets 10/10 from me and my mother on hospitality, accommodation and tour planning. We wanted a personalised itinerary with ample time at the backwaters and Naveen Mathew ensured we get what we wanted

Booked this tour through TA in fort kochi. The tuk tuk driver Mr. Karthik picked us up from our hotel. He was a pleasant gentleman with a smiling face. The stories shared by karthik made me and friends walk past through time - to the history of the place. The beach and the old church was beautiful. The traditional lunch at the kerala hotel was delicious and amazing! thanks to karthik and team for this experience! We highly recommend this tour in Kochi!
This tour basically a Kasaragod beach tour. Kerala beach tour usually includes crowded and commercialized beaches. But this Kasaragod beach tour showcases the clean and less-commercialized beaches. The places covered in the tour, like Bekal Fort in Kasaragod, has huge historical importance.
Bekal Fort is located in the Bekal village. It is near the National Highway 66. This destination is well-connected with the major hotels. Bekal fort from Mangalore is just about 2 hour's drive. There are daily passenger train services from Mangalore to Bekal Fort. Mangalore to Bekal Fort Trains stops at the Bekal railway station.
Bekal fort is open from morning 8:00 A.M. till evening 5:30 P.M. However, it is ideal to visit Bekal Fort between 8:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. in the morning and between 2:00 P.M. and 4:00 P.M in the evening. This grants time for tourists to walk through the entire place.
Other major tourist attractions are the Kappil beach Kasaragod, Chembirikka beach, Thrikkannadu, Bekal beach camp (Pallikkare beach), Nithyanandashramam, Guruvanam, Anandhashramam, Chandragiri Fort, Chithari,Hosdurg Kanhangad, etc.
